For nurses
Nurse Payouts & Stripe Connect
Nurses are paid through Stripe Connect. This page explains onboarding, payout eligibility, timing, and the payout and tax information nurses are responsible for keeping accurate.
Last updated July 2026
1. Payouts are handled by Stripe Connect
The Nurse Nearby uses Stripe Connect to pay independent licensed nursing professionals. Stripe collects and stores your payout details directly; The Nurse Nearby does not store your bank account or card numbers.
2. Onboarding in the app
- Create your nurse profile in the mobile app and select your credential type (RN, LPN, or CNA).
- Submit required credentials and documents for admin review.
- Start Stripe Connect onboarding from the app and complete Stripe's identity and account verification steps.
- Add the bank details where you want payouts deposited.
Stripe may request additional information to satisfy its own verification requirements. Until Stripe's requirements are satisfied, payouts cannot be released.
3. Payout eligibility
- Your nursing credentials must be reviewed and approved by our admin team.
- Your Stripe Connect account must be fully verified and enabled for payouts.
- The work must be marked completed in the app.
- The job must not be under an open dispute or verification review.
4. Payout timing
Payouts are initiated after completed work has been confirmed and verification requirements are met. The time for funds to appear in your bank account depends on Stripe's payout schedule and your bank. Payouts related to a disputed job may be held while support completes its review.
5. What you earn
For patient care tasks, the offered amount for the job is shown before a customer confirms and before you accept. For facility shifts, the facility sets the hourly rate, and The Nurse Nearby does not take a percentage of nurse pay for facility shifts. See our Pricing & Fees section for details.
6. Tax and payout responsibility
Nurses using The Nurse Nearby are independent professionals, not employees. You are responsible for maintaining accurate payout, identity, and tax information in Stripe, and for your own tax filings and obligations. Tax documents, where applicable, are issued based on the information in your Stripe account. The Nurse Nearby does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice.
7. Keeping your account in good standing
- Keep your license and required certifications current in the app.
- Update your Stripe details promptly if your bank or legal information changes.
- Update job status accurately so completion and payout are not delayed.
8. Payout support
For questions about a payout, email support@thenursenearby.app with the job reference. We respond within 2 business days. Never send full bank account or card numbers in a support message.
