Terms of Service

The Nurse Nearby operates a technology marketplace. We provide software that lets patients, healthcare facilities, and businesses post care tasks, shifts, and service requests, and lets verified nursing professionals accept that work. We do not provide medical care, nursing services, diagnosis, or treatment, and we do not employ the nurses who deliver care.

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• Account information must be accurate and kept current.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or create safety risk.

Nurses on The Nurse Nearby are independent licensed professionals, not our employees, agents, or subcontractors. Each nurse is solely responsible for maintaining an active license, practicing within their scope of practice and applicable state regulations, carrying any required insurance, and meeting their own tax obligations. Nurses control which jobs they accept and how they deliver care.

• Describe the requested task, shift, or service accurately, including location, timing, and any relevant conditions.
• Provide a safe and lawful environment for the professional delivering the service.
• Pay the amount shown in the app before a request is confirmed.
• Do not request services outside a nurse's credential type or scope of practice.

• Submit accurate credentials and documentation for verification.
• Complete admin verification before accepting paid work.
• Accept only work you are licensed and qualified to perform.
• Update task status honestly, including accepted, en route, arrived, and completed.
• Maintain accurate payout and tax details in Stripe.

Verification is a review of submitted documentation, which may include government ID, nursing license, TB screening, and CPR certification. Verification is not a guarantee of a professional's performance, availability, or clinical judgment, and customers remain responsible for their own decisions about care.

Customers pay through The Nurse Nearby, and amounts and any applicable fees are disclosed before checkout. Nurse payouts are issued via Stripe Connect after work is completed and account verification requirements are met. Payment processing is subject to Stripe's terms.

• Using the platform for emergency medical needs.
• Requesting or providing controlled substances, prescriptions, or care outside scope of practice.
• Submitting false, altered, or borrowed credentials or identity documents.
• Arranging payment outside the platform to avoid fees, verification, or records.
• Harassment, discrimination, threats, or unsafe conduct toward any user.
• Scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with the platform or its security.
• Misrepresenting your identity, licensure, or affiliation with a facility or business.

The Nurse Nearby is not an emergency service and must not be used for urgent or emergency medical needs. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

Cancellation windows, refund eligibility, and the dispute process are described in our Refunds & Cancellations Policy, which forms part of these terms.

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, or that any specific job will be accepted, filled, or completed. We make no warranty regarding clinical outcomes.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Nurse Nearby is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the acts or omissions of independent professionals, customers, facilities, or businesses using the platform. Our aggregate liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify The Nurse Nearby against claims arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these terms, or your professional conduct on or off the platform.

We may modify these terms or the platform. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. You may stop using the platform at any time, and we may suspend access for violations of these terms.
